Pakistan has witnessed a historic surge in petroleum product prices over the past month due to escalating regional tensions and rising global oil rates. The sharp increase has affected petrol, high-speed diesel, and kerosene, putting additional pressure on consumers.
According to industry sources, kerosene prices have risen by Rs252.87 per liter, petrol by Rs63 per liter, and high-speed diesel by Rs60.16 per liter in just one month. On February 28, 2026, petrol was priced at Rs258.17 per liter, which has now jumped to Rs321.17 per liter. High-speed diesel increased from Rs275.70 to Rs335.86 per liter, while kerosene surged from Rs180.53 to Rs433.40 per liter.
Experts attribute this dramatic rise to geopolitical instability in the Middle East, particularly the Iran conflict, coupled with volatility in the international oil market. These developments have pushed domestic fuel costs to unprecedented levels.

Analysts warn that unless global tensions ease or supply disruptions are resolved, domestic petroleum prices may continue to climb, further straining households and businesses across Pakistan.
