The Punjab government has launched eight-week summer learning camps under the Taleem Program across 12 districts to continue academic activities during summer vacations.

The initiative aims to strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy skills among students while schools remain closed for regular classes.

According to the School Education Department, the camps will run from June 2 to August 7, 2026. A total of 6,060 learning camps will be established in 3,030 selected schools across districts including Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Bhakkar, Chiniot, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Lodhran, Mianwali, Muzaffargarh, Pakpattan, Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur.

Daily schedule and implementation

Officials said the camps will operate five days a week from 7am to 9:30am, focusing on improving basic learning skills in an effective and structured environment.

The department has directed chief executive officers and district education authorities to ensure proper arrangements before the program begins and to guarantee smooth execution across all districts.

Teachers’ incentives and participation drive

Sources revealed that teachers participating in the summer camps will receive an additional Rs. 40,000 per month along with their regular salaries during the eight-week program.

The School Education Department has also stressed community engagement to increase student participation and improve learning outcomes during the initiative.

Officials said the program is part of broader efforts to reduce learning gaps and strengthen the education system at the grassroots level.
