Punjab government committed to worker's welfare: Maryam Nawaz
In her message on the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, she highlighted the importance of the physical and mental well-being of workers in factories, industries, and offices.
She directed the Labor Department and other relevant authorities to take strict action against violations of workplace safety rules. She said every industrial and business unit must provide proper safety equipment to protect workers from harm.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the effective implementation of safety standards is crucial to preventing workplace accidents. She added that only healthy and safe workers can contribute to building a strong and productive society.
She also urged industrial owners to give top priority to worker protection and ensure better working conditions. According to her, the Punjab government is working to promote a strong safety culture in workplaces.

The Chief Minister stated that labor laws are being revised for enhanced employee protection. She added that around 1.4 million workers are already receiving monthly financial support through ration cards, and another 50,000 factory workers will be added this year.
She said workers are a valuable asset of the country and their safety cannot be compromised under any circumstances.
Maryam Nawaz also warned that companies ignoring safety rules will face strict penalties. She said international standards will be enforced to reduce workplace risks and accidents.
