LAHORE (Web Desk): Punjab Budget FY2026-27 will be presented on June 16 as preparations are completed and key financial decisions have been finalized.

All preparations have been completed for the presentation of Punjab’s budget for the financial year 2026-27 in the provincial assembly on June 16, according to sources in the provincial finance ministry.

Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman will present the budget in the provincial legislature. Officials said that all financial figures and proposals have now been finalized.

Sources said a provincial cabinet meeting will be held at 11:00am on June 16 before the assembly session to approve the final budget proposals.

The finance ministry has indicated that the social sector has been given top priority in the upcoming budget. This includes areas such as health, education, and public welfare.

Officials also said that no new taxes will be introduced in the budget. However, it is expected that salaries and pensions will be increased in line with the federal budget.

According to the federal budget for FY2026-27, a 7% increase in salaries for government employees and a 7% rise in pensions for retired employees have been proposed.
