Pakistan to host Iran-US peace deal signing ceremony in Geneva, says PM
Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the signing ceremony for the Iran-United States peace agreement will be held in Geneva on June 19 under Pakistan’s hosting. He described the development as a historic moment and said peace has finally prevailed after months of conflict.
Addressing the National Assembly, the prime minister said that, by the grace of Allah, the world has reached an important milestone for peace. He added that after 3 months and 16 days of intense tensions and challenges, Iran and the United States have announced a permanent end to hostilities on all fronts.
Shehbaz Sharif said the formal signing ceremony would take place in Geneva on June 19 and that Pakistan would host the event. He congratulated the people of Pakistan, the international community, members of the National Assembly, and the political leadership on what he called a major diplomatic achievement.
The prime minister thanked Nawaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, and Bilawal Bhutto for their support. He described the agreement as a victory for diplomacy, dialogue, and negotiations.

He also congratulated US President Donald Trump, Iranian Supreme Leader Mujtaba Khamenei, and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. He praised the negotiating teams for their patience and wisdom during a difficult period.
Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged the role of Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Chinese President Xi Jinping in supporting the peace process.
He further said that the role of Field Marshal Asim Munir could not be ignored, adding that he had worked tirelessly to reduce tensions and promote peace. The prime minister said such historic moments come only once in many generations.
