Punjab approves Rs1 billion cash support under ‘Maryam ko Bataye’ program
The Punjab government has approved up to Rs1 billion in funding for the “Maryam ko Bataye” program to provide direct financial assistance to citizens, aiming to strengthen public complaint resolution and relief services.
Under the scheme, eligible citizens will be able to receive up to Rs10,000 in cash support through the program’s digital platform and helpline system. Officials said the initiative will continue until the full allocated budget of Rs1 billion is distributed.
Revised eligibility and funding framework approved
Authorities have also approved revisions in the eligibility criteria and financial funding structure of the program. The Planning and Development Board cleared the agenda through a circulation process, allowing faster implementation of the updated framework.
Officials said the revised structure is aimed at improving transparency, ensuring fair distribution of funds, and making the system more efficient for public service delivery.
Digital system for complaints and cash transfer
Citizens will be able to apply through the “Maryam ko Bataye” mobile application as well as a dedicated helpline. Once verified, eligible applicants will receive financial assistance directly.
The government said the initiative is designed not only to provide immediate relief but also to strengthen the complaint redressal mechanism across the province.
Focus on public relief and service delivery
Officials added that additional measures are being introduced to make the grievance system more effective and responsive. The program is part of broader efforts to improve governance and provide timely support to citizens facing financial hardship.
