The Chief Minister of Punjab has suspended the 10pm market closure order for Ramadan, allowing businesses to operate 24 hours across the province.
According to officials, markets, commercial stores, bakeries, hotels, and shops will remain open without time restrictions during the holy month. The chief minister directed commissioners, deputy commissioners, and relevant departments to ensure immediate implementation of the revised policy, providing relief to traders and consumers alike.
Up to Rs 23000 double relief in Ramzan
In a major financial boost, eligible families may receive up to Rs 23000 through separate Ramzan relief packages announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Under the federal initiative, Rs 13000 per family will be distributed to 12.1 million beneficiaries through the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) across all four provinces.

Separately, the Punjab government will provide Rs 10000 per family to 4 million deserving households identified through a socio-economic survey.
Relief distribution in Lahore
In Lahore, around 200000 beneficiaries will receive Rs 13000 under BISP. Additionally, over 60000 families identified in the provincial survey will receive Rs 10000.
Authorities confirmed that the distribution of 20000 ATM cards is currently underway in Lahore. In the second phase, 25000 more cards will be issued, followed by 10000 cards in the third phase.
Officials say the combined measures aim to provide both economic relief and business flexibility during Ramadan.
