Public holiday announced across entire Punjab district
The Vehari district administration has announced a public holiday across the entire district on July 11 to mark the annual Urs of Baba Diwan Haji Sher. The holiday will fall on the final day of the three-day religious celebrations.
Deputy Commissioner Khalid Javed said the Urs festivities will begin on July 9 and continue until July 11. Thousands of devotees are expected to visit Vehari during the annual event.
According to an official notification, all government offices and public institutions across the district will remain closed on July 11 in connection with the Urs celebrations.

However, examinations being conducted by educational boards and universities will continue according to their scheduled timetables and will not be affected by the public holiday.
The district administration also confirmed that essential services will remain fully operational throughout the holiday. Hospitals, emergency services, security agencies, and other key departments will continue performing their duties.
Officials said special security and administrative arrangements have been made to manage the large number of devotees expected to attend the annual Urs and to maintain law and order across the district.
