ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): Pakistan has launched the ‘Khush Aamdeed’ passenger facilitation service at Islamabad International Airport to provide travellers with a more convenient airport experience.

The new meet-and-assist service is designed to support passengers at different stages of their journey, from check-in to departure and arrival. The initiative offers additional convenience to passengers seeking personalised assistance during their time at the airport.

Defence secretary inaugurates ‘Khush Aamdeed’

Federal Secretary for Defence Lt Gen (retd) Muhammad Ali inaugurated the new service at Islamabad International Airport. Senior officials from the federal government, aviation sector and tourism industry also attended the launch ceremony.

Officials reviewed the services offered under the initiative and highlighted the importance of improving passenger facilities at major airports. The launch marks another step towards providing more organised and professional services to travellers using Islamabad airport.

Islamabad-Madinah passengers become first users

Passengers travelling from Islamabad to Madinah became the first travellers to use the new ‘Khush Aamdeed’ meet-and-assist service. The service is intended to make airport procedures easier by assisting in different stages of the journey.

Travellers can receive support with priority check-in and assistance during security clearance. Personalised guidance is also available to help passengers move through the airport more smoothly.

Priority check-in and security assistance offered

One of the main features of the service is priority check-in for passengers using eligible packages. Travellers can also receive assistance during security clearance, making the airport process more convenient.

The service is aimed at passengers who prefer additional support rather than relying entirely on standard airport procedures. The level of assistance will depend on the service package selected by each traveller.

Premium lounge access included in packages

‘Khush Aamdeed’ also offers premium lounge access through its different service packages. Passengers using eligible packages can spend time in a premium lounge while waiting for their flights.

The lounge option adds another level of comfort to the overall airport experience. Travellers can select facilities according to their individual needs and the package they choose.

Airport pick-up and drop-off services available

Passengers can also choose airport pick-up and drop-off services under the programme. These services are intended to make transportation to and from the airport more convenient.

Travellers can select the available options according to the package they purchase. The addition of transfer services means passengers can receive assistance beyond the airport terminal.

Service licensed by Pakistan Airports Authority

The ‘Khush Aamdeed’ service has been licensed by the Pakistan Airports Authority and is currently operating at Islamabad International Airport. The licence provides an official framework for the service to operate at the airport.

The company behind the initiative plans to gradually expand the service to other airports across Pakistan. The expansion could give passengers in other major cities access to similar premium facilitation services.

Focus on improving Pakistan’s airport experience

The launch comes as airports continue to focus on improving passenger facilities and making travel more convenient. Airport procedures can be challenging for some travellers, particularly during busy periods when terminals become crowded.

Meet-and-assist services can provide additional guidance and support to passengers seeking a more personalised experience. The new initiative therefore gives travellers another option for premium assistance during their airport journey.

Potential expansion to other airports

Islamabad International Airport is currently the first location where the service is operating. The planned expansion to other airports could increase access to premium passenger facilitation services across Pakistan.

The company is expected to gradually extend its operations as the initiative develops. Further expansion would allow more domestic and international travellers to access similar services at other major airports.
