Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that owning a home is a basic right for every citizen, pledging that providing easy home loans will be a top government priority. He also called for urgent actions to boost investment in the housing and construction sectors.
The Prime Minister chaired a key meeting on increasing investment in residential development. Task forces and working groups from the construction and housing sectors presented proposals, focusing on affordable housing, private sector involvement, and job creation through construction projects.
PM Shehbaz Sharif directed authorities to develop a comprehensive plan to make homes accessible on easy terms. He highlighted that a surge in construction activity could generate millions of jobs nationwide, providing economic stability and strengthening Pakistan’s growth.
He also emphasized restoring confidence among overseas Pakistanis and foreign investors, assuring that their investments would be fully protected. Officials were instructed to remove legal and administrative barriers and present actionable plans for immediate implementation.

The Prime Minister stressed that all stakeholders, including construction experts and investors, should be involved in shaping the strategy to ensure effective results. He noted that the housing sector has huge investment potential, which can provide affordable homes while also building a stronger economic foundation for the country.
These measures aim to make home ownership more attainable for citizens, create new employment opportunities, and attract both local and international investment in Pakistan’s housing and construction industry.
