Petrol pump owners demand monthly fuel pricing system
Petrol pump owners in Pakistan have asked the government to change the current weekly fuel price review system and shift it to a monthly basis. They say frequent price changes are creating financial pressure and operational difficulties for fuel retailers.
According to the petrol pump owners' association, constant fluctuations in fuel prices are affecting business stability and making it difficult for dealers to manage daily operations smoothly.
The association believes that a monthly fuel pricing system would bring more stability to the market. They say it would also help businesses and consumers plan better and reduce uncertainty.

They further stated that a fixed monthly review would benefit both fuel dealers and the public by creating a more predictable pricing environment across the country. The association has urged the authorities to immediately review and revise the current petroleum pricing framework to address the issue without delay.
Petrol pump owners have also warned that if their demands are ignored, they may launch a nationwide protest campaign. They said any escalation of the situation would be the responsibility of the authorities if the matter remains unresolved. They added that frequent fuel price changes are also causing frustration among consumers, as people struggle to adjust to constant increases and decreases.
