A tragic incident has been reported from Peshawar, where a matric student allegedly died by suicide after receiving lower-than-expected marks in the annual Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations.

According to police, the incident occurred in the Khazana area of Peshawar. The student, identified as Uzair, was found dead inside a room at his home after allegedly hanging himself. Police responded to the scene shortly after receiving information about the incident and completed the initial legal formalities.

Authorities said an entry has been made in the daily police register at Khazana Police Station, while further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the student's death.

According to the student's father, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education had announced the matric examination results a day earlier. He told police that his son had been deeply upset after securing fewer marks than he had expected.

The father stated that Uzair appeared emotionally distressed following the results, and the family believes the disappointment over his performance may have contributed to the tragic incident.

The incident has once again highlighted concerns about academic pressure and the emotional impact that examination results can have on students. Education experts have repeatedly urged parents, teachers and educational institutions to provide emotional support and reassurance to students during result season, reminding them that exam scores do not define a person's future.
