Pakistan’s women lead Hajj journey as 50,114 female pilgrims prepare to perform Hajj under the official scheme this year.
A significant number of women from Pakistan will perform Hajj this year, highlighting growing female participation in the religious pilgrimage. According to official figures, 50,114 women will travel under the government scheme, making up 43.5 percent of the total Hajj quota.
Region-wise data shows that Karachi tops the list, with 13,869 women pilgrims, the highest in the country. Lahore follows closely with 13,619 women, while Islamabad ranks third with 11,573 female pilgrims.
Other regions include Multan with 4,264 women and Peshawar with 3,331. Sialkot stands out with the highest female participation ratio at 47.8 percent, with 2,412 women set to perform Hajj.
Meanwhile, Quetta has 709 female pilgrims, representing 17.3 percent, while Sukkur reports the lowest number at 337 women.

In total, 65,182 men will also perform Hajj this year, bringing the overall government scheme quota to 119,000 pilgrims. Additionally, around 3,900 individuals will travel under special categories, including Hajj assistants and hardship cases.
Officials say the rising number of female pilgrims reflects improved accessibility and confidence among women to undertake the sacred journey, marking a positive shift in participation trends across the country.
