Nikah ceremony held at Jati Umra
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s daughter Mahnoor Safdar is solemnising her nikah at the Sharif family’s Jati Umra residence. The ceremony is being attended by close relatives and invited family guests.
Mahnoor is marrying Azan Jabbar, the son of businessman Jabbar Khalid. The event has been arranged as a private family gathering.
Senior family members attend event
Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his sons, Hasan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz, are expected to attend the ceremony, according to sources. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also arrived at Jati Umra to participate in the event.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb also reached the residence, sources said. Their attendance added a political dimension to the family occasion.
Mahnoor recently completes graduation
The nikah comes shortly after Mahnoor completed her graduation in Anthropology from SOAS University of London. She studied at the university from 2023 to 2026.
Earlier this month, Maryam Nawaz travelled to London to attend her youngest daughter’s graduation ceremony. She described the achievement as a moment of great pride and happiness for the family.
Family celebrates another wedding
Speaking to Geo News, Maryam Nawaz said parents could have no greater pride than seeing their children complete their education. She added that all three of her children had now completed their higher studies.
Mahnoor is the youngest of Maryam Nawaz and Captain Muhammad Safdar’s three children. The family’s latest major wedding celebration was Junaid Safdar’s marriage to Shanzeh Ali Rohale in January, with festivities held at several venues, including Jati Umra.
Mahnoor’s nikah brings another important family celebration to the Sharif household. The presence of close relatives and senior leaders has drawn public attention to the private ceremony.
