New route of electric bus service in another city announced
Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon shared the update during a Sindh Assembly session. He said the government is working to provide better and safer travel facilities for the public. The new route will connect Latifabad with Hyder Chowk.
The minister said more routes in Karachi cannot be launched immediately because of a shortage of buses. He added that new routes would be introduced after additional buses become available.
Sharjeel Memon also directed Peoples Bus drivers to stop only at designated bus stops. He said passengers often try to stop buses at unauthorized places, which creates disputes and sometimes damages the buses.
He further stated that development work is continuing across Sindh, including Karachi. According to him, the government is focusing on transport improvements along with other public projects.

Separately, the Sindh government approved the purchase of 500 new electric buses under a public-private partnership model. The move is aimed at modernizing and improving the province’s transport network.
The latest announcement has raised hopes among passengers facing daily transport difficulties in Hyderabad and Karachi. Many citizens believe the expansion of bus services could make travel easier and more comfortable in the near future.

He said the new buses will be acquired under a public-private partnership model, aimed at upgrading the public transport network and making travel easier for citizens.
The minister also vowed that the People’s Bus service will be expanded to every street, road, and neighbourhood of Karachi. He added that Sindh is already operating the first pink buses in the region, marking a step toward modern and inclusive urban transport.
