NADRA clarifies pension payment rules
NADRA issues clarification for pensioners
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued an important clarification for NADRA pensioners who receive monthly payments.
According to the authority, no government decision has been made to stop pension payment Pakistan because a proof of life certificate was not issued by September.
NADRA Public Information Officer Syed Shehab Ali said pensioners would not lose their payments simply because the required document was delayed.
This NADRA pension update is expected to ease concerns among retired employees, especially older people who may face difficulties completing official procedures on time.
Who will benefit from the announcement?
NADRA said the clarification applies to several groups of pensioners.
These include retired members of the armed forces, as well as former employees of federal and provincial government departments.
Retired employees will also not be affected if their departments have not yet completed arrangements with NADRA for issuing a proof of life certificate.
Officials have made it clear that NADRA pensioners will not have their pensions stopped only because NADRA was unable to issue the document within the required period.
What is a proof of life certificate?
A proof of life certificate is used to confirm that a pension recipient is alive and remains eligible to receive pension payments.
Pensioners may be required to provide this confirmation under the rules of their relevant department or pension system.
However, delays in issuing the certificate during September will not, by themselves, lead to the suspension of pensions, NADRA has clarified. This NADRA pension update may provide relief to people who feared that missing the deadline could affect their monthly income.
NADRA aims to make the process easier
NADRA said it is working with relevant institutions to make the certificate process easier for retired employees.
The main aim is to reduce difficulties for pensioners, particularly elderly citizens who may find it hard to visit different government offices.

The authority wants to make the process more convenient and reduce repeated visits to offices to complete pension-related requirements.
The clarification also covers employees whose departments have not yet finalised arrangements for the certificate service.
What pensioners should know
The latest pension payment Pakistan clarification means a September certificate delay alone will not be a reason to stop pension payments.
However, NADRA pensioners should continue to follow the instructions of their relevant pension departments and complete any required procedures.
The NADRA pension update offers reassurance to retired employees while the authority continues working with departments to simplify the process
