Low-level flood persists at Chashma and Jinnah barrages
Water inflow rises significantly after rainfall
According to officials, the inflow at Chashma Barrage reached 327,000 cusecs, while the outflow was recorded at 318,000 cusecs.
Authorities said the inflow at Chashma increased by around 40,000 cusecs over the past 24 hours following widespread rainfall. Meanwhile, the Jinnah Barrage also continues to experience low-level flooding.
The inflow at Jinnah Barrage was recorded at 341,000 cusecs, while the outflow reached 334,000 cusecs. Officials said they are continuously monitoring water levels to ensure timely action if conditions worsen.
PDMA says most Punjab rivers remain normal
Earlier, the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said water flows in most rivers across Punjab remain within the normal range. According to the authority, the Chenab, Jhelum, Ravi, and Sutlej rivers are flowing normally despite recent rainfall.
The PDMA also confirmed that water conditions in the hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan remain stable. Officials said continuous monitoring is underway to identify any sudden changes caused by additional rainfall.
Low-level flooding remains on the Indus River
The PDMA said low-level flooding continues at several locations along the Indus River. According to the authority, Kalabagh and Chashma remain under low-level flood conditions.
Officials recorded the water flow at Kalabagh at 340,000 cusecs, while Chashma recorded around 290,000 cusecs during an earlier assessment. Authorities said river levels may fluctuate depending on future rainfall and upstream water flows.
Authorities remain on high alert
Disaster management authorities have instructed local administrations to remain vigilant in flood-prone areas. Emergency response teams have been directed to stay prepared in case water levels rise further.

Officials are also maintaining close coordination with irrigation departments and district administrations. The government said precautionary measures are being taken to minimise risks to local communities.
Flood relief camps remain operational
The PDMA has established flood relief camps in vulnerable districts to assist if needed. These camps are equipped to offer temporary shelter and basic facilities to affected residents.
Officials said emergency supplies and rescue equipment have also been placed on standby. Local administrations have been directed to ensure a swift response in case of any emergency.
Citizens advised to remain cautious
Authorities have urged people living near rivers and flood-prone areas to remain alert and follow official advisories. Residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel through flooded areas and stay updated through official weather and flood alerts.
Officials said public cooperation is essential to ensure safety during the ongoing monsoon season. The PDMA added that it will continue monitoring the situation and issue further updates if river conditions change.
