Lahore man stunned as 421 vehicles and millions in fines found in his name
A shocking case has emerged in Lahore where a single citizen has been found linked to hundreds of vehicles and a large amount of unpaid traffic fines. According to the traffic police spokesperson, arif ali rana, 421 vehicles, including cars, rickshaws, and motorcycles, are registered under the name of a Lahore resident identified as Baz Muhammad.
The discovery was made during a routine general hold-up operation targeting e-challan defaulters across the city. Officials said Baz Muhammad, a resident of the Multan Road area, is involved in the business of providing vehicles on installment plans.
Preliminary records show that nearly 90% of the registered vehicles under his name are motorcycles. Authorities also revealed that a total of 1,526 e-challans are pending against him, amounting to more than 2.088 million rupees in fines.
The traffic police further confirmed that one of the motorcycles registered under his name has been impounded at Muslim Town police station as part of ongoing enforcement action.
Officials have informed the Excise Department and the Safe City Authority to further verify the records and assist in clearing discrepancies in the data. A formal request has also been sent to the Safe City Authority for detailed verification of registration and ownership information.
Authorities say the case highlights serious issues in vehicle registration monitoring and e-challan enforcement systems, prompting further scrutiny to prevent misuse of registration data and ensure accurate ownership tracking across Punjab’s transport database.
