Lahore Basant 2027 dates changed as Punjab approves celebrations
The decision replaces the earlier schedule announced for January and February.
Punjab cabinet approves new Basant dates
According to media reports, the provincial cabinet has approved the revised schedule for Basant in Lahore. The festival will now be celebrated over three days in March 2027.
Earlier, the Punjab government had announced a 10-day Basant period from January 29 to February 7, 2027. That schedule has now been replaced by the new dates.
How the Basant schedule was changed
The process began when the Lahore deputy commissioner sent a proposal to the Punjab Home Department to change the festival dates. The department then forwarded the proposal to the provincial cabinet for approval.
Following the cabinet’s approval, March 12-14, 2027, were set as the new dates for the celebrations. The revised schedule will apply in place of the previously announced dates.
Lahore prepares for March celebrations
Under the new plan, Basant festivities in Lahore will take place in March rather than during the January-February period. Residents and visitors should follow official announcements for further details about the event.
The change gives people a revised timeline to plan their participation in the festival. Any additional arrangements or instructions will depend on announcements from the relevant authorities.
What the date change means
The revised schedule gives Lahore a new three-day period for Basant celebrations in 2027. People who had planned around the earlier dates will need to adjust their plans.
Official updates will be important for confirming any rules and arrangements for the festival. Residents should check government announcements before making final plans.
