Kerosene price jumps after petrol and diesel hike
Kerosene price has increased by Rs11.19 per litre, with the government extending fuel price hikes beyond petrol and diesel.
According to an official notification, the price of kerosene has been raised by Rs11.19 per litre, taking the new rate to Rs242.33 per litre. Previously, kerosene was being sold at Rs231.14 per litre.
The latest increase comes shortly after revisions in petrol and diesel prices, further increasing fuel costs for households and businesses that depend on petroleum products for daily use.
Kerosene remains an important fuel source in many parts of Pakistan, particularly in remote and rural areas where it is used for cooking, heating, and lighting. The increase is expected to have a direct impact on families that rely on kerosene as an affordable energy option.
Economic observers say higher fuel prices often lead to increased transportation and operational costs, which can eventually affect the prices of various goods and services. Consumers have expressed concerns that the latest adjustment could add to inflationary pressures at a time when many households are already struggling with rising living expenses.
While the government has not announced any relief measures alongside the latest increase, the revised rates have taken effect immediately under the official notification.
The rise in kerosene prices follows ongoing fluctuations in international oil markets and domestic fuel pricing adjustments. Analysts believe future fuel prices will continue to depend on global crude oil trends, exchange rate movements, and government tax policies.
With another increase in fuel costs, consumers are closely watching whether additional price changes will be announced in the coming weeks.
