(Web Desk): Jet fuel prices surge to a historic high, raising fears of costly air travel and reduced flights in Pakistan.

Jet fuel prices have surged to a record high after a massive increase, sparking concerns over rising airfares and pressure on airlines.

According to official details, the price of jet fuel has been increased by Rs83 per litre, pushing it to Rs471 per litre , the highest level in the country’s history. In just one month, the fuel has seen a staggering cumulative rise of Rs283 per litre, creating serious challenges for the aviation sector.

Data shows that on March 1, 2026, jet fuel was priced at Rs188 per litre. Since then, this marks the fourth increase within the same month, highlighting a sharp and continuous upward trend.

Industry sources say airlines are now facing intense financial pressure as fuel costs make up a major portion of operational expenses. Maintaining regular flight operations is becoming increasingly difficult under such conditions.

Experts warn that if the trend continues, passengers will likely face significantly higher ticket prices in the coming weeks. There are also fears that airlines may cut down the number of flights, which could lead to travel disruptions and inconvenience for passengers.

Meanwhile, the government has also increased the price of kerosene oil by Rs4.66 per litre, raising it to Rs433.40 per litre from Rs428.74. The hike adds further burden on consumers already struggling with inflation.
