Islamabad driving licence system goes fully digital
The new initiative was inaugurated by Inspector General of Islamabad Traffic Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi in a formal ceremony held in the capital. Senior officials also attended the event and reviewed the upgraded system.
Under the new reform, the Islamabad Traffic Police has completely shifted the licence process to a digital platform, aiming to make services faster, simpler, and more transparent for citizens.
Officials said the driving licence Pakistan process previously required multiple documents such as medical certificates, photographs, and photocopies, which often caused delays and inconvenience.
With the introduction of a paperless system Islamabad, all manual paperwork has been eliminated, and every step from medical checks to licence issuance will now be handled digitally.

Authorities explained that applicants will no longer need to bring extra documents, as the entire record will be processed through a centralized system linked with national databases.

Officials praised the traffic police team for completing this project in a short time and called it a major achievement in service delivery reforms.
They also confirmed that the Islamabad Traffic Police plans to soon digitize fee payments as part of the next phase of modernization.

Now, citizens applying for driving licence Pakistan will only need their identity card, making the process more convenient than ever before.
