(Web Desk): Islamabad bus waiting time has been reduced on 3 routes as CMTA increases bus frequency.

The new schedule will allow passengers to wait only 12 minutes instead of 15.

The Capital Mass Transit Authority (CMTA) introduced the revised schedule from September 3, 2026. The change is aimed at making daily travel easier for commuters using these routes.

New schedule for FR-08B

On route FR-08B, buses running between Khanna Pul and Nilore will now arrive every 12 minutes. Previously, passengers had to wait around 15 minutes for the next bus.

The shorter interval is expected to provide more frequent transport for people travelling between the two areas. Commuters can now plan their journeys with less waiting time.

Changes on FR-09 and FR-14

Route FR-09, which operates between Khanna Pul and Golra Mor, will also have buses every 12 minutes. The previous interval on this route was 15 minutes.

On FR-14, buses travelling between Barakahu and Mandi Mor will also run every 12 minutes. The revised frequency is expected to make public transport more convenient for passengers on the route.

CMTA aims to improve transport

CMTA said the changes were introduced to improve public transport services and respond to increasing demand from commuters. More frequent buses are expected to reduce waiting times and improve access to public transport.

Passengers have been advised to follow the revised schedule when planning their daily journeys. The authority expects the updated timings to make travel more convenient on all 3 routes.

The shorter bus intervals could make a noticeable difference for people who use these routes every day. A 3-minute reduction in waiting time may appear small, but it can save time during regular journeys.

The move also shows that CMTA is trying to respond to growing passenger demand. If demand continues to rise, further changes in bus frequency could help improve the overall public transport system.
