Islamabad airport flight operations may face delays, NOTAM issued
Islamabad airport flight operations may face delays from today until May 10 as Pakistan Airports Authority issued a NOTAM. The advisory warns passengers and airlines of possible disruptions due to operational reasons affecting arrivals and departures.
According to the NOTAM, flight schedules may change or be delayed depending on operational conditions at Islamabad International Airport. Airlines have been advised to remain alert and coordinate with air traffic control to manage possible disruptions during the specified period.
The notice further instructs flights arriving in Islamabad to carry additional holding fuel to manage unexpected air traffic delays. This step is aimed at ensuring safety and smooth handling of aircraft during congestion or temporary operational constraints at the airport.
Specific time windows have also been identified when operations may be affected. On May 8, disruptions are expected from 10:45 am to 12:15 pm. On May 9 and May 10, impact is likely between 8:00 pm and 9:15 pm, according to the advisory.
Passengers are advised to check with airlines before heading to the airport to avoid inconvenience. Authorities have not detailed the exact reason for the operational restrictions but have emphasized that the situation is temporary and under monitoring by aviation officials. Travellers are urged to stay updated through official airline notifications and airport announcements.
