Four books kept for reading
Khan selected four of the eight books to keep for reading, according to the compliance report.
The books he kept are New State, Iqbal and the Sages of the East, Art & Science: Civilization in Islam, and Prophet Muhammad as a Military Leader and Commander.
The report states that the four books remain with Khan inside the jail. The selection includes books covering politics, Islamic thought, history, civilisation, and military leadership.
Four books returned to jail authorities
Khan returned the other four books to the jail authorities.
The books returned were The Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam, Prayer (According to the Sunnah), Saladin, and Misquoting Muhammad.
According to the report, Khan told jail officials that he had already read these books and had copies of them with him. He therefore decided to return the four books instead of keeping additional copies.
IHC directions implemented
The compliance report was submitted to inform the Islamabad High Court that its directions regarding reading material for Khan had been implemented. The jail administration confirmed that all eight books received from the court were handed over to the PTI founder.
Four books were subsequently returned, while Khan kept the remaining four for reading. The report records that the jail authorities complied with the court’s directions regarding the provision of reading material.
What the compliance report says
The report was submitted by Adiala Jail Deputy Superintendent Subtain Raza to the Islamabad High Court. It states that the jail authorities received the eight books from the court and later delivered them to Khan.
