Govt restores motorway speed limits
Government restores previous speed limits
The federal government has withdrawn its earlier decision to temporarily reduce Motorway speed limits Pakistan, bringing back the previous speed regulations for all categories of vehicles.
According to Motorway Police spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmed, cars and other light vehicles can once again travel at a maximum speed of 120 kilometres per hour on motorways.
Passenger buses and heavy transport vehicles are now permitted to travel at speeds of up to 110 kilometres per hour.
National highways also return to old limits
The spokesperson confirmed that the previously applicable speed limits on national highways have also been restored.
The revised decision takes immediate effect, allowing motorists to drive under the same rules that were in place before the temporary restrictions.
Officials said the decision was made to facilitate road users while ensuring smooth traffic movement across the country's motorway and highway network.
The restoration of Motorway speed limits Pakistan is expected to make long-distance travel more convenient for commuters and transport operators.
