Web Desk: The federal government has introduced digital pension verification Pakistan, allowing pensioners to complete their identity verification from home through facial recognition technology.

The new Pakistan pension system aims to make the process easier and eliminate the need for elderly citizens to visit banks.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb announced the initiative during a National Assembly session while explaining the government's budget priorities.

He said the facial recognition pension system has been designed to help pensioners verify their identity quickly and securely without leaving their homes.

Through this pension verification from home facility, senior citizens will no longer have to stand in long queues or make repeated visits to banks.

According to the minister, the digital pension verification Pakistan initiative is part of the government's broader effort to modernize public services through technology.

Officials believe the facial recognition pension system will improve transparency, reduce fraud, and make identity verification more reliable.

The Pakistan pension system is also expected to become faster and more efficient under these digital reforms.

Aurangzeb said the government is using digitalisation and artificial intelligence to reduce discretionary powers in public institutions and improve governance.

Alongside digital pension verification Pakistan, several reforms are being introduced to expand the tax base and strengthen digital public services.

He also informed lawmakers that salaries and pensions of government employees have been increased under the new budget.

The government hopes these measures will provide greater financial support while improving service delivery through the updated Pakistan pension system.

The minister highlighted improvements in the country's economy, saying major economic indicators have shown positive progress during the past year. He noted that the current account has moved into surplus, while overseas Pakistanis sent $4.25 billion in remittances. Pakistani freelancers also contributed $1.6 billion to the national economy.

Officials believe the pension verification from home service will save time for thousands of pensioners and make access to government services more convenient.

They also expect the facial recognition pension system to strengthen security by reducing identity fraud and ensuring that benefits reach eligible recipients.
