The Government of Pakistan has approved a significant increase in financial assistance under the Benazir Income Support Programme, offering major relief to low-income families across the country.

According to reports, the quarterly stipend under the BISP Kafalat Program has been increased by Rs5000. The amount will rise from Rs14500 to Rs19500, with the new payments set to take effect from January 2027.

Officials stated that the move aims to provide stronger financial support to vulnerable households amid rising living costs. Around 10.2 million beneficiaries are expected to benefit from this increase, making it one of the largest relief measures in recent times.

The government emphasized that this decision is part of broader efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s social protection system and improve financial stability for underprivileged segments of society. Authorities believe the enhanced stipend will help families better manage essential expenses such as food, healthcare, and education.
