Govt hits 150,000 Hajj applications target in just eight days
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has achieved its target of receiving 150,000 Hajj applications in just eight days through the online Hajj portal developed by the National IT Board. Officials described the achievement as a major success in digital public services and e-governance.
According to the ministry’s spokesperson, efforts to fully digitise Hajj arrangements are progressing rapidly under the government’s vision of improving public services through technology.
The online Hajj portal and the “Pak Hajj” mobile app allow pilgrims to complete their registration from home through a simple, transparent and fast process. The system has been designed to make Hajj registration easier and more accessible for people across the country.
The ministry said the new digital system has received positive feedback from the public, with many people appreciating its convenience, transparency and ease of use. Officials believe it is an important step towards modernizing government services.
Following the directives of the Prime Minister, the government is also moving towards the complete digital collection of Hajj dues. Preparations to integrate online payments into the system have entered the final stage.

Under the new plan, Hajj pilgrims will be able to pay their dues from home through the online Hajj portal or the “Pak Hajj” mobile app. A modern payment system is being introduced through One Link, allowing applicants to complete the entire process without visiting banks or government offices.
Experts say the new digital model will also benefit overseas Pakistanis by enabling them to register for Hajj, check their application status and pay Hajj dues from anywhere in the world.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has also introduced several new features to the online Hajj portal and the “Pak Hajj” mobile app. Applicants can now check their registration details, application status and other important information with just a few clicks.
