Web Desk: The government of Pakistan has announced to keep fuel prices unchanged for August 11, giving motorists temporary relief as the latest rates remain in place.

Current petrol and diesel prices

The petrol price in Pakistan has remained at Rs327.62 per litre, while high-speed diesel continues to cost Rs380.86 per litre. The Petroleum Division has confirmed that there will be no increase or decrease in the rates for the day.

The latest diesel price Pakistan consumers will pay is Rs380.86 per litre. Similarly, the petrol price today stands at Rs327.62 per litre, keeping the rates unchanged from the previous review.

The government’s decision has come under the country’s new daily fuel pricing system. Under this mechanism, petroleum prices are reviewed according to international oil prices and other relevant factors.

Why have fuel prices stayed unchanged?

The latest decision followed the non-publication of Platts prices on August 10. Because of this, the government continued the rates already applicable from August 8 to August 10.

The previous review had reduced petrol by Rs2.20 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs1.50 per litre. Those reductions brought the petrol price in Pakistan down to Rs327.62 and the diesel price Pakistan rate to Rs380.86 per litre.

For motorists checking the petrol price today, there is therefore no fresh increase. The same is true for consumers following the diesel price today, which has also remained unchanged.

What could happen next?

Pakistan has moved toward a daily fuel pricing mechanism, allowing rates to respond more quickly to changes in global oil markets. The system considers international petroleum prices, currency movements and other costs when determining domestic fuel rates.

This means the current rates may not remain unchanged for long. Any major movement in international oil prices could affect the next review.

For now, the petrol price in Pakistan remains Rs327.62 per litre, while the diesel price Pakistan rate stands at Rs380.86 per litre.

Consumers looking for the petrol price today and diesel price today can therefore expect no change for August 11.
