Globally acclaimed airline executive Officer Tewolde Gebremariam, tops shortlist for PIA's next CEO
According to a Bloomberg report citing sources familiar with the matter, the newly privatized Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is expected to officially unveil its new chief executive in the near future.
The appointment, however, remains contingent on the completion of corporate approvals and legal formalities. Neither the airline nor Tewolde Gebremariam has issued an official statement regarding the reports.
The development follows the recent transfer of PIA's management to an Arif Habib-led consortium after the government's privatization of the national carrier.
The consortium is expected to prioritize restoring the airline's financial performance, strengthening its international presence and rebuilding its image after years of mounting losses and operational setbacks.
