Federal government announces major bureaucratic transfers, appointments and retirement

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): The federal government has announced transfers, new postings and a retirement in several departments, including administrative and police services.

Finance and climate divisions see changes

According to the latest Establishment Division notification, Abdul Jabbar, Joint Secretary of the Finance Division, has been transferred and directed to report to the Establishment Division.

Section Officer Sania Akram has been moved from the Establishment Division to the Climate Change Division. Meanwhile, Muhammad Awais Hashmi, who was serving as an Officer on Special Duty, has been appointed as Section Officer in the Establishment Division.

These federal government transfers are part of a wider administrative reshuffle affecting officers working in different departments.

Education and health departments receive officers

Assistant Professor Tehseen Zahra has been transferred from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to the Federal Directorate of Education.

In the health sector, Pharmacist Asma Maqsood has been transferred from the Punjab government to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad.

Medical Officer Dr Tauseef Ahmed has also been moved from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to Polyclinic Hospital Islamabad.

The bureaucracy reshuffle Pakistan has therefore affected education, healthcare, finance and climate-related departments.

Senior official to retire in March 2027

Azmat Hussain Khan, Senior Joint Secretary of the Water Resources Division, is scheduled to retire from government service on March 9, 2027.

The retirement date has been included in the Establishment Division notification. The government has also announced separate changes involving officers from the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) and Police Service of Pakistan.

PAS officers assigned to regulatory authority

Saeed Ramzan, a Grade 21 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, has been transferred from his current posting with the Punjab government and directed to report to the Establishment Division.

Shan-ul-Haq, a Grade 20 PAS officer also serving with the Punjab government, has received the same direction.

The services of both officers have been placed at the disposal of the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority on an attachment basis.

These federal government transfers place the two officers at the disposal of the authority for attachment, according to the official notification.

Islamabad Police receives senior officer

The government has also notified a change involving the Police Service of Pakistan.
SSP Husam bin Iqbal, a Grade 19 officer previously posted at the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), has been transferred. His services have been placed at the disposal of Islamabad Police.

The Establishment Division notification formally records the appointments and transfers. The bureaucracy reshuffle Pakistan also includes changes affecting federal administrative and police services.
