An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale jolted various areas of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, triggering fear among residents who rushed out of their homes reciting prayers.
According to the Seismic Monitoring Center, the earthquake’s magnitude was recorded at 4.3 on the Richter scale. The tremors were clearly felt in different parts of Azad Kashmir and surrounding regions of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Officials stated that the epicenter of the quake was located in the Gilgit-Baltistan region, while its depth was recorded at approximately 12 kilometers below the surface. Due to the shallow depth, the intensity of the tremors was felt more strongly in nearby areas.
Following the earthquake, people in affected regions came out of their houses in panic as precaution. Local authorities immediately activated emergency response teams and began monitoring the situation closely.

Preliminary reports indicate that no casualties or significant property damage have been reported so far. District administrations and relevant departments remain alert and are continuously assessing potential impacts.
