CM Maryam opens e-bike scheme applications for students

Applications open on September 5 through the official registration portal, according to the scheme details.

100,000 electric bikes available

Under the scheme, the Punjab government plans to provide 100,000 electric bikes to students enrolled in educational institutions across the province.

Students from government and private schools, colleges and universities are eligible to apply, according to the scheme details.

The programme covers students from more than 33,000 public and private educational institutions across Punjab.

The bikes will be offered in different colours, with pink bikes designated for female students.

How much will students pay?

The total listed cost of each electric bike is PKR 199,000.

However, the amount payable by the student is PKR 109,000 under the subsidised scheme.

Students will pay this amount through a 36-month instalment plan, with the monthly payment set at PKR 3,028.

The government will cover insurance, mark-up, and registration costs, reducing the overall financial burden on students.

This support is intended to make electric bikes more affordable for students who may struggle with daily transportation expenses.

Who can apply for the e-bike scheme?
