KARACHI (Web Desk): Sindh Budget 2026–27 is likely to be presented next week, with a possible 24% cut in development spending and key fiscal changes.

The Sindh government is expected to present its Budget 2026–27 in the provincial assembly next week, according to official sources. June 16 and June 17 are currently being considered for the budget presentation. The upcoming financial plan will outline the province’s expected income and expenditure priorities for the next fiscal year.

Officials said the budget preparation process was delayed due to compliance with International Monetary Fund (IMF) conditions and the implementation of the National Fiscal Pact. Despite these delays, the provincial government is aiming to complete the budget process and secure approval from the Sindh Assembly before the start of Ashura.

Under assembly rules, at least five days of debate are required before the budget can be passed. Sources said Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah is expected to present the budget once again, marking his 10th budget presentation in the provincial assembly.

The upcoming budget is also expected to include a significant reduction in development spending. According to sources, the development budget may decline by up to 24% compared to the current fiscal year. The expected cut could affect development projects and spending priorities, although the final details will become clear once the budget is officially presented.
