ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): SBP declares a July 1 bank holiday across Pakistan as banks suspend public transactions while employees attend offices.

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that all banks and financial institutions across the country will observe a bank holiday on July 1. As a result, public banking transactions and customer services will remain suspended for the day.

According to the central bank, all commercial banks, development finance institutions, and microfinance banks will remain closed for public dealings during the bank holiday.

However, bank employees will report to work as usual and carry out internal office duties. Public-facing banking services and financial transactions will remain unavailable throughout the day.

Customers are advised to complete any urgent banking transactions before the holiday or use available digital banking services, where applicable.

The announcement applies to all banking institutions across Pakistan and is part of the State Bank’s official schedule for the beginning of the new financial year.
