Authorities launch crackdown on e-challan defaulters
The Punjab Traffic Police will begin a provincewide crackdown on motorists who have failed to pay their e-challans from July 1. Authorities have warned that strict legal action will be taken against those who fail to clear their outstanding traffic fines.
Under a zero-tolerance policy, traffic police officers across Punjab have been equipped with the Traffic One app. The system enables officers to instantly check outstanding e-challans and recover pending fines during roadside inspections.
According to the Traffic Police, motorists can check the status of their e-challans through the Punjab Safe Cities Authority website. Officials have advised vehicle owners to clear all pending fines before the crackdown begins.

Authorities said vehicles and motorcycles with unpaid e-challans may be impounded if their owners fail to clear the outstanding dues. The operation aims to improve compliance with traffic laws and reduce violations across the province.
DIG Traffic Punjab Muhammad Waqas Nazir urged citizens to pay their e-challans on time to avoid legal action. He said the Punjab Traffic Police would continue taking strict action against traffic law violators without discrimination to improve road safety and promote better traffic discipline.
The department believes the new campaign will encourage motorists to follow traffic rules and fulfil their legal responsibilities, helping create safer roads across Punjab.
