While issuing orders to intensify the crackdown on power pilferers across the country, the interior minister has also directed the officers of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to give their 100 percent against over-billing and electricity thieves.

“Overbilling will not be tolerated under any circumstances. There will be no compromise on overbilling. It is tantamount to oppression of the people. The staff involved in overbilling does not deserve any leniency,” he said.

“People should be given immediate relief in the overbilling issue. Security will be provided to the FIA officials in sensitive areas of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to control the incidents of power theft,” he added.

Also, the interior minister expressed deep sorrow and regret over the loss of life in the traffic accident on the Indus Highway in Jamshoro. He expressed his heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the families of the deceased.

He prayed for the grant of patience to the bereaved families and also for the speedy recovery of the injured.
