
The judgment directs the removal of Alvi from office and imposes a fine of Rs 2.5 million. It also directs that non-payment will lead to the confiscation of his movable and immovable properties, and also the blocking of his CNIC and passport.
According to the decision, Alvi’s inappropriate behavior caused significant mental distress to the complainant. The complaint, filed by Mahreen Aziz, accused the CEO of repeatedly pressuring her to join him for dinner after work and sending her inappropriate messages. She also named K-Electric’s HR head, Chief Security Officer, and a board member in her harassment complaint.

Taking to social media site X, Moonis Alvi rebutted the claims, stating that he intended to appeal the conviction in the courts of law and invoke his right to appeal in a bid to "shine a light on the truth."
It is pertinent to note that Mahreen Aziz Khan became the first-ever woman CxO at K-Electric as Chief Marketing & Communications Officer (CMCO), a role no woman had ever held at the utility giant — after the company underwent change in 2009.
