(Web Desk): The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has formed a partnership with the Hazza Institute of Technology to deliver globally recognized vocational training to its beneficiaries.

This partnership has been formed under the Benazir Hunarmand Programme, and to finalize a pilot project aimed at skill development, Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of BISP, met with Hazza Institute board member Muhammad Saleem Ahmad Ranjha and Managing Director Azhar Ikbal Sindhu at BISP Headquarters.

An initial cohort of 50 beneficiaries in construction, hospitality, and healthcare fields, alongside essential soft skills such as workplace ethics, behavior, and personal hygiene, will be trained in the first step of the initiative.

Senator Khalid underlined the importance of aligning training with job opportunities both within Pakistan and abroad. The programme is designed to meet international standards, enabling beneficiaries to support their families and contribute to the workforce, stated Senator Khalid.

To review training modules and engage with trainees learning trades such as plumbing, electrical work, welding, cyber technology, driving, and Korean language, the BISP Chairperson toured the Hazza Institute. Encouraging them, she remarked they are “ambassadors of Pakistan,” urging them to uphold ethics, tolerance, and unity for the nation’s progress.

A souvenir was presented by the Hazza Institute management to Senator Rubina Khalid in recognition of her commitment to skills-based empowerment at the end of her visit.

This initiative builds on the broader Benazir Hunarmand Programme launched by President Asif Ali Zardari in June 2025, which seeks to elevate BISP’s mission into skills-driven economic inclusion and poverty alleviation.
