(Web Desk): The National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced revised fees for issuing the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).

This update includes Pakistani citizens residing in Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, and accessibility and convenience for citizens abroad is improved through this update.

Key Benefits of NICOP

NICOP remains a crucial identity document for overseas Pakistanis, offering a range of privileges such as visa-free entry to Pakistan on a foreign passport, legal recognition as a Pakistani citizen, permission to buy and sell property in Pakistan, access to banking services and the ability to open Pakistani bank accounts, eligibility to apply for a Pakistani passport, and voting rights while in Pakistan.

Where to Apply

·        NICOP applications can be submitted at any NADRA Registration Center (NRC).

·        Abroad (Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia): Services are available via Pakistani embassies and consulates in those countries.

·        The Pak-Identity app now enables overseas Pakistanis to submit applications remotely from anywhere in the world.

When applying online from Arab countries, these updates add convenience as they align the NICOP fees payable in Pakistani rupees with those in US dollars. Embassies will charge applicants in local currency, which NADRA says will simplify the process for overseas citizens.

NADRA continues to strengthen its ties with the Pakistani diaspora with the help of streamlined fee structures, multiple application channels, and the convenience of the Pak-Identity app.
