Web Desk): The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced that its call center services are temporarily shut down due to technical problems. The suspension affects people in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

According to an official statement, both the helpline (051-111-786-100) and mobile user service (1777) will remain unavailable from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM on September 3, 2025.

Citizens who need help during this period are advised to visit NADRA’s official website or reach out through its verified social media channels.

NADRA has apologized for the inconvenience and confirmed that services will resume by 8:00 AM.

NADRA, established in 2000, manages Pakistan’s Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) system and is responsible for maintaining a secure and reliable citizen database.

It uses biometric technology for identification and registration. By 2012, NADRA had issued identity cards to over 89.5 million citizens.

While the outage is temporary, it highlights the importance of strong technical support in government systems.

Even short disruptions in such key services can cause delays and frustration for the public.

NADRA acted quickly to inform citizens and offer alternatives, but more robust infrastructure could help prevent future interruptions, especially as NADRA continues to grow its role in digital governance across Pakistan.
