The Government of Punjab has officially launched the Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025, a big step to help students improve their studies with technology.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is leading the initiative, which aims to provide 112,000 high-performance laptops to talented students across the province.

The scheme is specially designed for students studying in public sector universities, colleges, and medical/dental institutions in Punjab.

It focuses on rewarding academic excellence and supporting digital learning.

According to the official plan:

·        Laptop Registration Starts: June 2025

·        Application Deadline: September 30, 2025

·        Laptop Distribution Begins: October 31, 2025

Eligibility Criteria:

·        You must be studying in a public university or college in Punjab.

·        Minimum 65% marks for BS students.

·        Minimum 80% marks for medical/dental students.

·        You must not have received a laptop in any previous government scheme.

How to Apply?

Students can apply online through the official registration portal by submitting their academic records and ID documents.

A merit-based lottery system will decide who gets the laptops, ensuring fairness.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will formally launch the scheme at a ceremony on September 6, 2025. Laptops will be delivered by the end of October.

Why This Matters:

The Punjab Government hopes the scheme will:

·        Help less-privileged students get access to modern technology.

·        Make it easier for students to attend online classes and do research.

·        Encourage students to improve their academic performance.

This follows past success, for example, 14,000 laptops were already given to Lahore students. Now, the plan is expanding to the entire Punjab region.
