
According to the notification, there will be a public holiday on September 5 and 6 across Sindh in observance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ, during which all offices will remain closed.
It should be noted that yesterday the federal government also announced a public holiday across the country on Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ, with the Cabinet Division issuing the official notification. The federal notification will apply to both public and private institutions nationwide, ensuring that all remain closed in observance of the celebration.
Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ, marking the birth of the Last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa ﷺ, is celebrated with great religious devotion and respect in Pakistan as well as in many countries around the world.
The day begins with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital Islamabad, and a 21-gun salute in each provincial capital. Following Fajr prayers, special supplications are made in mosques for the unity of the Muslim Ummah, as well as for the country’s progress and prosperity.

It is also noteworthy that this year, the birth anniversary of the Last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ will be observed with devotion and reverence on Saturday, September 6 — a day that also coincides with Pakistan’s Defence Day.
Furthermore, the Sindh government has announced two holidays (Friday and Saturday) for Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ, while Sunday will also be an off day, giving citizens of Sindh a three-day weekend this week.
