Punjab govts Dhee Rani Program to facilitate 5,000 collective weddings
LAHORE (Web Desk): The Punjab government has unveiled an ambitious plan under its 'Dhee Rani Program' to organize 5,000 collective weddings in the upcoming fiscal year.

The aim of this initiative is to help underprivileged couples across the province have financial support for essential wedding services and to be stable.

Key Highlights of the Program:

·         A cash grant of PKR 200,000 will be given to each couple through the  Dhee Rani Card  to support their wedding expenses.

·         The costs of wedding attire, jewelry, and venue bookings will be taken care of by the government. The government will ensure that the couple gets a dignified wedding.

·         To demonstrate the government’s commitment to inclusivity, for the first time the program will include eligible couples from the Hindu community.

·         The collective weddings are scheduled to take place between November 2025 and February 2026. The target for the initiative is all ceremonies before Ramadan 2026.

·         To ensure the successful execution of this program, a substantial budget of PKR 1.7 billion has been allocated

Sohail Shaukat Butt, Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal, emphasized that the  Dhee Rani Program  has become a voice for Punjab s daughters. He acknowledged the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s approach has been instrumental in the program s success and public trust. He also noted that by October 2025, the physical verification of all eligible couples will be completed. This is to ensure transparency in the distribution of aid.

Punjab government’s Dhee Rani Program ensures dignified weddings and financial support for underprivileged communities and marks a step towards inclusivity, social welfare, and equality within the province.
