(Web Desk): Pakistan introduces salary increases, lower energy prices, and its first-ever microeconomic exhibition to support workers, businesses, and MSMEs.

The government has announced salary increases and reduced energy prices, providing relief to workers and businesses across the country, officials confirmed at a press briefing on Wednesday.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industry and Production, Haroon Akhtar, shared the updates during a press conference in Islamabad, highlighting the positive impact of electricity price reductions on the production sector. “Lower energy costs are already showing benefits for industries and businesses, improving efficiency and competitiveness,” he said.

Akhtar also announced that Pakistan will host its first-ever microeconomic exhibition at the Lahore Expo Center from January 24 to 26. The event will focus on micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and is expected to be the largest expo of its kind in the country. The exhibition aims to showcase innovation, products, and services from local entrepreneurs and provide networking opportunities to boost the MSME sector.

The government official emphasized that the development of the production sector and MSMEs remains a top priority. “We had to take tough economic decisions, but today the results are visible,” he said, pointing to growing industrial activity and increased business confidence.

He also highlighted positive economic indicators, noting strong performance in Pakistan’s stock market and a gradual decrease in policy rates, which reflect broader economic improvement.

The government hopes that these measures, combined with energy relief and support for MSMEs, will stimulate economic growth, create employment, and strengthen local industries. Authorities urged businesses and workers to take advantage of the ongoing initiatives and participate in the upcoming microeconomic exhibition.
