ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): TTAP support for PTI has been assured ahead of the September 27 long march, with opposition parties planning wider political coordination.

The Tehreek-i-Tahaffuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan has decided to develop a joint political, media and public outreach strategy for the planned September 27 long march.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the opposition alliance chaired by its head and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai.

The alliance also agreed to increase contacts with other democratic political parties and work towards holding a multi-party conference.

TTAP assures PTI of support

During the meeting, TTAP leaders and representatives of other opposition parties assured the PTI leadership of their support for the planned protest.

The participants also agreed to coordinate with political forces outside the alliance as preparations for the September 27 activity continue.

According to the alliance, the planned march will remain peaceful and within what its members describe as constitutional and democratic principles.

The opposition parties said peaceful protest is a constitutional right of citizens and political parties.

They said there should be no departure from this principle during the planned political activity.

PTI leaders briefed the meeting about preparations for the September 27 protest.

They also discussed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s public outreach campaign during his visits to Sindh and Punjab.

Opposition seeks wider political unity

The meeting also focused on bringing more political parties together on a common platform.

The alliance agreed to accelerate contacts with other democratic forces and convene a multi-party conference on important national issues.

According to the statement, the purpose of the proposed conference is to discuss the country’s political and economic challenges.

The opposition alliance said it wants political forces to work together to address what it described as an ongoing national crisis.

It also called for cooperation among political parties beyond the existing alliance.

Committees and responsibilities have reportedly been assigned to coordinate with other parties and preparations for the proposed conference.

Alliance outlines its political demands

The united opposition said its political struggle would focus on several issues.

These include what the alliance describes as the supremacy of the Constitution, parliamentary sovereignty, provincial rights and civil liberties.

The parties also said they want public issues to remain part of their joint political campaign.

The alliance said the September 27 event would mark the beginning of a broader effort to take its political campaign to different parts of the country.

Its statement described the campaign as an attempt to press for what it considers constitutional and political rights.

These positions are those of the opposition alliance and reflect its stated political objectives.

Claims of political restrictions

During the meeting, participants also raised allegations of political repression and restrictions on political and human rights.

The alliance attributed what it described as reduced avenues for political and legal action to developments following the 26th Amendment.

It said peaceful protest was therefore an important means of expressing political demands.

These claims represent the opposition’s stated position and remain part of the broader political dispute between the government and opposition forces.

The alliance has not indicated that its planned activities will move away from peaceful political campaigning.

Instead, its statement repeatedly described the proposed march as peaceful, constitutional and democratic.

Multi-party conference planned

A major outcome of the meeting was the decision to work towards a multi-party conference.

The proposed MPC would bring together political forces from outside the TTAP alliance to discuss major national issues.

The opposition parties said the conference could provide a platform for discussions about the country’s political and economic situation.

Committees have already been formed to establish contacts with other political parties.

The alliance said there was consensus among participants that democratic political forces should work together on a single platform.

The exact date, venue and final list of participating parties for the proposed conference were not provided in the statement.
