Fuel relief scheme crosses 1 million registrations, 800,000 tokens

More than 1 million people have registered for the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme, according to figures released by the Ministry of Information Technology.

The ministry said the programme is being monitored through a 24-hour control room to track registration and token activity across the country.

The latest figures show strong participation since the government launched the scheme to provide targeted fuel assistance to eligible consumers.

More than 800,000 tokens have so far been generated for people registered under the programme.

Punjab and Islamabad lead token redemptions

According to the latest information, Punjab and Islamabad are currently leading in token redemptions under the scheme.

The ministry said eligible people in different parts of the country are benefiting from the fuel assistance programme.

The government introduced the initiative to support eligible consumers facing pressure from higher fuel costs and broader household expenses.

The scheme uses digital registration and tokens to help manage the distribution of financial assistance.

However, the number of tokens generated should not be treated as the final number of beneficiaries who have actually received or used the relief.

How much fuel relief will beneficiaries receive?

Under the government-approved framework, eligible motorcycle and rickshaw users in the targeted low-income category can receive fuel relief of Rs500 per week.

Eligible owners of cars with engines of up to 800cc can receive Rs1,000 every 10 days.

The programme is aimed at non-commercial consumers.

The government has also limited the relief to one eligible vehicle per owner under the scheme.

These conditions are intended to keep the programme focused on eligible consumers rather than commercial users or multiple vehicles owned by the same person.

The registration figures suggest that the scheme has attracted a large number of applicants since its launch.

However, eligibility checks and actual token redemption remain important parts of the process.
