Polling underway in 21 AJK election constituencies
Voting continues across 21 constituencies
The second phase of the AJK elections began early in the morning and will continue without interruption until 5 pm.
Voters are electing representatives from 21 constituencies, including nine territorial seats in the Muzaffarabad Division and 12 seats reserved for Kashmiri refugees living across Pakistan.
Election officials have urged voters to reach polling stations on time and participate peacefully in the democratic process.
More than 1.2 million voters eligible
According to the Election Commission, over 1.2 million registered voters are eligible to vote during this phase.
The nine general constituencies are located in Muzaffarabad, Neelum and Jhelum Valley, where a combined total of 890,621 voters are registered.
Officials expect steady voter turnout throughout the day as polling continues.
Hundreds of candidates in the race
A total of 351 candidates are contesting in the second phase of the AJK elections.
Among them, 208 candidates are competing for the nine territorial constituencies.
They represent major political parties, including the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), along with several independent candidates.
Meanwhile, 143 candidates are contesting the 12 refugee seats.
Election observers say the competition is expected to remain close in several constituencies.

Tight security at polling stations
Authorities have deployed additional security personnel to maintain law and order throughout the voting process.
Security has been strengthened at polling stations across the Muzaffarabad Division and at refugee polling centres established in different cities across Pakistan.
Officials said the measures are intended to ensure transparent, peaceful and uninterrupted polling.
Polling postponed in LA-27 Muzaffarabad-I
While voting is continuing in most constituencies, polling has been postponed in LA-27 Muzaffarabad-I.
According to the Election Commission of AJK, election materials, including ballot papers and other essential supplies, could not reach polling stations because landslides blocked access to the area.
As a result, polling could not begin as scheduled.
The Election Commission said it will announce a new polling date after reviewing the situation.
Officials indicated that an announcement regarding the revised schedule is expected later today.
Results expected after polling ends
Counting of votes will begin once polling officially closes at 5 pm.
Election officials said unofficial results are expected to start arriving during the evening, while official results will be released after the completion of the counting process and verification.
