ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): Rajnath Singh Kashmir remarks have drawn a strong reaction from Pakistan, with the Foreign Office calling the comments “provocative” and harmful to regional peace.

Pakistan condemns Rajnath Singh’s statement

Pakistan has strongly rejected the Rajnath Singh Kashmir remarks, saying they present a false picture of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and increase tensions in the region.

Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said the Indian defence minister’s comments were “highly provocative and irresponsible”. He added that the Kashmir dispute is an internationally recognised issue that remains on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council.

What did Rajnath Singh say?

According to Indian media reports, Rajnath Singh said that any future dialogue with Pakistan would only be about “Pakistan-administered Kashmir”.

He also claimed that India had given its armed forces complete freedom to respond to security threats and said no country would dare challenge India.

Pakistan rejects the claims

The Pakistan response to Rajnath Singh Kashmir remarks said the statements were an attempt to divert attention from India’s policies in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and other regional issues.

The Foreign Office said India’s recent statements reflected “misplaced rhetoric of aggression and belligerence” instead of promoting peace and stability.

Pakistan also stressed that it remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any possible aggression.

Pakistan urges UN to act

The Pakistan response to Rajnath Singh Kashmir remarks also called on the international community, especially the United Nations, to take serious notice of India’s actions.

The Foreign Office urged the UN to ensure the implementation of Security Council resolutions that guarantee the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

Officials said a peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute remains essential for lasting peace in South Asia.
